    Default Soldering for beginners

I am just starting out and would like to make a ring for a special friend. I am not running before I can walk and would like some advice on the best way to practice soldering.

I have just watched a YouTube video by Andrew Berry about soldering and he used jump rings to demonstrate. Are jump rings the best way to ptactice? What size should I get?

    Thanks for any pointers

You would be cheapest buying a coil of wire, probably copper to begin with, and make your own
Just put a drill bit in the vice and wind the wire round tightly in a coil. You can choose any size you want. You can then cut them off cleanly with a saw not snips then follow Andrew’s instructions for soldering
