I don't know about Delft clay, Lisa, but I'm rapidly learning that, in the world of jewellery, nothing is as easy as it looks.

My kit for this is arriving tomorrow and I suspect that no, it won't be. I found these videos quite useful though:

YouTube - Andrew Berry describes to principles of Delft Clay Casting Part 2 of 3
YouTube - Andrew Berry describes to principles of Delft Clay Casting Final Part

Good Luck ladies, a little tip that you may already know, but I'll tell anyway, make sure that you coat your scorifier with borax and then heat it, do this several times until it has a glassy coating this will help the molten metal slip out of the dish more readily.
Let us know how you get on and any top tips that you pick up or learn .

I had been told by my tutor (ex) that all good girls and boys send castings and stone settings off to a dedicated professional.......this forum has definitely broadened my horizons!!
That, and a conversation I had with my 13 year old yesterday about how she had been casting pewter at school - now that is a spur to have a go
