    Default Red gold solder 750R1

    Hi there
I bought red gold solder years ago, 18ct but not sure if its easy. Medium or Hard? I usually stamp on it at the time but not this time.
All it has on it is 750R1!
    Any ideas, thank you

My table shows the melting range of solders.
If you use a small snip of your unknown, side by side with say a piece of medium silver solder of the same size and melt them quite slowly on a piece of scrap, it will give you a clue to the hardness. Dennis.

I don't know if it's any help, but I've only ever been able to find red 18ct in medium (in panels anyway - I don't think I've ever seen red in wire) - I have a little stash of most grades of solder, and it's the one gap that I've never been able to fill! Mine are simply marked 9 and 18 'red'
