Is Iolite good as a gift?

As the title suggests. I have been looking at some Iolite rings but I am not sure this could be a nice present. What do you think?

Iolite can be a lovely stone ,I have recently cut a couple that have got Asterism . It can be a bit soft so would depend on the setting.
