    Default Keep wax cast finish

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to finish the spot where the sprue was in a lost wax cast piece by keeping (mimicking) the cast texture.

    Thank you!

    Hi Joanna,
When you have filed the place flush, keeping the area as small as possible, use a fine pendant motor frosting wheel to blend it in Cookson No: 999 CCP.
Run it slowly, keep it moving and wear eye protection incase of flying bits.

If you like the freshly cast texture, but want it shiny, it can be brushed up with a jewellers wet and soapy brass brush. This will further blend in the sprue place. Dennis.
