That’s incredible Patni, how long have you been making chain in this way?
How long does it take to make a length?
I like the draw plate being held by your feet. I’ve never bought one because I didn’t have the equipment, now I know what to do!

    Hey CJ57,

Thank you for watching the video.

This chain is a very old and traditional chain in my city. This chain is made by my goldsmith since the past 30 years. Its tradtional as well as very fashionable.

For a 24 inch chain, it takes us normally 1.5 days (including lunch time, dinner time, etc)

    Thank you.

Yes, draw plates are actually cheaper . so thats its bieng used.

I have drawing machine as well.

    How do you draw wires?

I would like to say I draw wires but haven’t done so since college 40 yrs ago . Like most people I just buy wire the correct size.
So that is not you making the wire but your goldsmith? Caroline

That was a fascinating process to watch, thank your sharing it. Making a chain that way would take me around a week I think!

Interesting, I use draw plates quite often however, I am no longer agile enough to hold them in my feet, I do the easy way with a draw bench.
