An amazing story Dennis, did you stay in touch with any of the people that you stayed with and do you think the evacuation affected your life much?

Thank you Alastair. It totally changed my outlook for life. The farmer was quite a lad and I had a new role model, not always for the better, some would say.
I visited, even later with my family, and their son, who was two years older than me came to London several times. Sadly they have all passed on now. Dennis.

What a lovely story you have shared with us Dennis. Its sad to hear they have all passed on, but you kept in touch when they were alive and that's lovely to hear. I reckon you could write a book with all your experiences Dennis!

An ex Tennis champion said the other that when he played Tennis when he won his championships it was a lot less professional, but more fun! I think we could do with more of that now.

What an amazing story Dennis. Must have been quite a surreal moment for you, but a rather special one.
