Question How do I make a backless bezel? (See photos)

    Greetings,
I am a a beginner hobbyist jewelry maker. I like to make rings with various cabochons and Sterling silver. I have some pretty moonstone that I'd like to use for a pendant or ring. Rather than setting it like I do other stones (bezel soldered to silver back plate), I'd like it to have an open back to allow more light in to highlight the stone. I have some examples of what I am looking to do below. These are from pieces I purchased years ago. I'd greatly appreciate your expertise and insight.Click image for larger version.

    Dalee,
Welcome to the forum, by far the simplest way to form a backless bezel is just make the bezel as usual then pierce the back out with your saw
