Default Combined effort Mothers day piece.

I wouldn't normally post this as is a very simple piece, but is special. We had my partners boys this weekend. They are 10 and 12 and it may be difficult to see them for a while with everything that is going on. So we did lots of indoor things this weekend.

We had them including Mothers day so I asked them if they would like to make a piece for their Mum and they did. They both did some sawing, some filing, some sanding and some hammering. They are both very different and was really interesting watching them both with their different approaches - they were brilliant though and one of them particularly interested in the process and asking lots of questions. Really enjoyed doing this with them and helping them make something special they could give their Mum to keep. So this is what we came up with between us and they did quite a lot of it Their Mum loved it because they had been so involved in making it.

That's fabulous, it sounds like it was a lovely day for everyone. If you have patience for kids it's a joy to see them gripped making things. Very nice looking result too. Just because it's simple doesn't make the worth or quality any less

Every youngster should be encouraged to use tools and you have turned out to be an ace teacher. Beautiful result a and a glow of happiness all round. Dennis.

It was a lovely day and enjoyed by all, they are very bright boys that enjoy learning so was a pleasure to do this with them and see them making something special for their Mum.

Thank you Dennis. One of them in particular is quite keen on using tools, but he is the less patient of the two and found it a little boring in places. Which is why we did a simple piece as wanted them to have really nice results relatively quickly. Just kept reinforcing what a good job he was doing and he stuck with it bless him but had to slow him down a little at times

I think it may just be an occasional thing, but you never know what takes.

Thank you, I was just happy that we got to do something together that they were immersed in for quite a while that wasn't warhammer related They did such a good job, love them.

Thank you everyone, I'll tell the boys their piece got lots of lovely comments - that will make them smile.
