Default PMC slip on seashells without using a mold?

Having used organic materials with silver slip on tiny pinecones, leaves, twigs with wonderful success, I now want to expand that to tiny seashells. Has anyone tried using seashells with out using a mold? I know the calcium will disintegrate but with large amount of slip does it work to keep the shape? If you have tried it, do you put the paste on both sides?

That's a bit of an exotic question, Rocky, but I would get a base metal clay for cheapness and do some experiments. That's the way we all work and then show it on here. Welcome, Dennis.
