I like that idea too - Ganoksin/Orchid has a 'Bench Exchange' and it's great for the tool geeks to have a good snoop at eachothers workspaces, maybe it would need it's own category?

When we moved into our cottage I bagged the utility room as a workshop and stole the dishwasher space!
This is a picture of my bench about 2 years ago

The solid wood worktop got a big semicircle cut into it for my bench peg
(neato idea as it is the perfect height)

    This is my workshop today:

Under the bench is my Propane and Oxygen Torch and to the right are my pickle pot, tumbler & storage area.
Opposite the metals bench is the desk where I do resin, polymer & precious metal clay work.
I like to keep them seperate to avoid cross-contamination.

Both benches look like they're in chaos - but everythings easily to hand
    (honest guvnor)

I love seeing other people studios! I shall have to get some pictures of mine before I move, though it's shamefully messy right now and I am off on holiday tomorrow, so I might be some time!

I'm new and have been trying to attach a picture... If its worked then this is my workshop at its worst I'm hoping to move soon and set up properly with a good bench, but this works for me for now.

Myke - I'll look forward to seeing your "before & after" pictures
Agent-44, shamefully messy is good (makes me feel better about mine)
Charlotte - Love the peg board - really handy for quick access to tools

    Thumbs up

Thanks MuranoSilver, I spent a day doing a bit of woodwork, made a nice drill bit holder, and file holder, hopefully one day I'll have a shelf or be able to mount the peg board on the wall. Yours looks much more professional than mine. I'm looking to move to a house and have been mainly looking for a placve with a suitable garage, but the utility room is a fab idea! I spend all my time either in the workshop or kitchen so that would be perfect

Well, mine is my living room as we live in a 1 bedroomed flat (at the moment) so it's always a mess... alot of the time I work on a 4" strip on my desk in front of my PC but I do have a small table now.

I'm hoping to get my own workshop space when we move to a 2 bedroomed flat in Cornwall (with any luck sometime this century lol)

... and this is my wee table that someone had dumped in Sainsbury's car park at the Recycling centre!

    Roll on the flat swap!

Charlotte - You made them yourself! Wow that's so cool & I hope you bag the Utility
all to yourself (and that there's a handy dishwasher space, lol)

Bijou - well done on saving a good solid table from the landfill site!
Regarding your workspace, as my Hubby always says.....
"It doesn't matter how big it is, it's what you do with it that counts"
