    Hello again Glen,

I would be really interested to know what kind of lighting you have used in "the cave" ?

That cave is amazing by the look of it - and that work surface!!

I hate having to work on a tray on my lap - but since all I'm doing is looping jump rings, it'll do for now.

I have a space in my utility room in Derbyshire, but will be retiring in 3yrs and 9 months to a village in Italy, I say retiring, but what I actually mean is giving up the day job and becoming a fulltime jewellery type person ( and possibly doing courses in basic silversmithing.) This is a lifetime dream and I really can't wait and my OH has a spreadsheet on his computer and he has told me tonight that we only have 1000 working days left, aaarrrgggg, sooo excited we are nearly down to 3 figures OMG !!)

I don't get to spend more than six weeks of year in Italy, but have you tried giving up making jewellery for a fortnight, it really truly is an addiction ! So I have basic tools out there which I was able to buy locally, but no soldering facilities and definitely nothing like tumblers or pendant drills ( I'll take the serious gear out there when we move for good) , but it does mean that I can get a lot of piercing, filing and hammering done.
OOh, how lovely retiring to Italy. Which part of that lovely country are you going to be moving to then ? parte degli italiani ancora? Don't start replying in Italian though, as I can't actually remember much Italian now. Listening to it is much easier than reading, but its all become very muddled as we decided to have a go at French after that and my languages have got all mixed up )

Lovely language though - doesn't matter what you say does it, it still sounds wonderful. You'll have to keep in touch once you've moved of course, we can't let you go that easily!

    xx

In 3 years time I imagine that you will have all moved on to bigger or better things, or possibly have set up a jewellery commune in the Lake district complete with centrally heated teepees and I won't be able to tear myself away from singalongs around the campfire (complete with crucible of course ! )

This is where we will be moving to:

(I am sorry if I sound a bit of an arse , or like a show off, but I don't do or think about anything else except Italy and jewellery making ( and family of course) , so once I get started I do tend to get a bit overexcited... just tell me to shut up ... my sister does ! )
