Default How to protect a gemstone pendant when soldering

Hello , I’m very new around here so please excuse my ignorance! How do you protect a gemstone pendant that doesn’t take heat when soldering the jump rings ? Many thanks

However in some cases it is possible to make a hole in the pendant and use a jump ring stout enough not to need soldering. Dennis

A photo would help to see if there is another way round the problem

Some times a product called thermo-gel or similar can be used depending on the design, if it is directly onto a bezel not much you do, in some case judicious application of the flame can also work I have used it many times successfully as said
    above a photo would help.
