    Default Pickle solution

Hi. Once a pickle solution has been prepared, how many times can it be used if kept warm ?
    Thanks

I use mine until it has got too low then if its dirty I wash out and redo but if not I just top up.
Heating it in a slow cooker with the lid on when I need it then leaving it switched off between sessions.
    So weeks basically.
Just use it until it isn't working I would say.

    Cool thanks for that !
Also, is the homemade version adequate ? I placed an order but forgot to add pickle.

Or you could buy alum crystals from amazon really cheap and readily available in foodstuffs

Yes just mix with water add powder to water, completely dissolve then heat ( works faster when hot) about 150 g per 1.5 litres, as for Alum I don't know I have never used it , (I am not convinced of it's safety)
Just one point when it is exhausted store some in a tightly closed jar , it can be handy if you wish to to remove the solder colour from copper items, it will thinly plate the piece and disguise the solder

You can also use vinegar and salt, again it works faster warmed but will work cold. Very smelly though.
