    Default Cleaning silver on pearls

Just wondering how people clean their silver when there are pearls involved? Just made some fabric, pearl and silver earrings and wondering about the practicalities of cleaning. Have been told that i can dip the silver and ribbon into goddards silver dip and the ribbon comes out fine

Silver dip is the quick fix, but pearls will slowly dissolve, causing the surface to become more white and opaque.
That said, if the pearls are not very valuable, then a quick dip and long rinse will not cause any noticeable change at first, but the effect will be cumulative over time. Dennis.

Do NOT use silver dip. It will ruin the pearls which are porous.
Use a silver polish cloth or silver polish on a cotton bud

Thanks pearlescense and Dennis, sometimes when using alternative materials there's always the issue of cleaning and advice is hard to come by.

Also, store your silver with an anti tarnish tab so it doesn't need as much cleaning

Dip would also do the silk no good at all. I find the anti tarnish tabs work really well too
