Question which solder should I use for 20ct yellow gold?

Hi. I am new here. Amazing to have this section to solve the problem. thanks to all.

I need to make an earring with 20ct gold. Should I use 22ct or 18ct to pass the hallmark? I don't see Cookson sellinng 20ct solder. or Can I use piece of 24ct gold?

It will be hall marked as 18ct, so 18ct solder is OK.
    1. Make sure the seams are neat, to avoid a possible mismatch in colour.
    2. Sorry if you know this already, but the cheapest way to buy gold solder is to buy wire solder by length. Dennis.
