    Default Foil for nunome zogan

    hello,

Does anyone know where I can purchase 24k gold foil and fine silver foil for Japanese inlay work? Based in the U.K. and my searches keep pulling up gold leaf which is too thin. Any info would be of much help. Thank you

Thank you Dennis, those are still too thin. I’m hoping to find gold foil that is about 0.02mm and silver at 0.05mm

You can get foil from Metal Clay they say at 14 microns which is a lot thicker than the gold I use from Cookson for Keum Boo. You may have to roll down your own

The only commercial source outside of Japan I can think of is momokoya.com - keum boo foil & gold leaf are, as you're already aware, far too thin for nunome zogan.
Otherwise it's a case of roll your own (and use a micrometer to check the thickness).
