Thread: Eye protection when soldering platinum?

    Thanks Peter, I have worked in platinum but that was many years ago now! I will take note of your advice, would you recommend separate files too, or can I give my files a good scrub with my file brush. It’s a wedding ring that had to be cut off the persons finger.

    I use Valtitan files on platinum (I have a separate set I use on steel too) - there's no way I'd trust my cleaning to get everything off.
    Platinum's a bit rough on standard hardness files.
