It is hard to console you so close to the event Sue, but rest assured that most of us have had our share of disasters.
On the bright side: if you decide to start again, it will be much quicker and easier the second time around. Dennis.

Oh no, bless you, I really feel for you. I seem mess pieces up at the final stages on a not so irregular basis so know how upsetting and frustrating it is, but obviously even more so for you given how special this is. I really hope you have time before the special day to sort something. Karen

I have done my fair share of late night early morning "remakes" because of split second lapse in concentration, so I know how you feel the hardest bit is
picking up and starting again, but once you do it all goes well (usually)

Thanks for all your kind comments - I’m a little late responding as I’ve been doing what I can with it. There are some battle scars which I can’t get out, and the foot is a little short now as I had to cut a little off the the bottom - it’s not a great pic, but here it is

Although flawed, it’s amazing as not long ago it looked as though it had been run over by a car!

Oh, it is just beautiful and has a story behind it too now, even if it was all very stressful for you. Might sound a little daft but if it was me, I'd love it even more with what has happened. Such a beautiful job. Karen
