Question How can i darken engraved pieces so the Text stands out more?

Hi Guys, i've just started making Sterling Silver personalised engraved Rings.
They are only 3mm wide, so the text is pretty small.
Not sure how to go about making the text darker, so it's easier to read?
Thanks in advance, for all replies.

An easy option is to fill the engraving with a fine waterproof pen (a black one intended for shiny surfaces). It will minimise the cleaning up process. Dennis.

I use wooden cocktail sticks and neat platinol for doing intricate areas
