    Hi everyone,

July has arrived along with some of the longest days of the year - yes Summer is upon us!

This month we want to see your SUMMER themed designs, so feel free to interpret this in any way you wish and submit a piece that means Summer to you. One winner will be chosen to receive a prize of a £100 Cooksongold shopping spree.

Simply submit an image of your piece (along with a brief description if possible) on this thread by midnight, Monday 31st July 2017 to enter.

    Good luck!

The judging will take place on 01.08.17. The following criteria are used to determine the winner: design, the technique used and the overall finish of the piece. The Cooksongold judging panel will make the final decision.

The winner will be announced and notified via the forum by 04.08.17. The winner must redeem their shopping spree (up to the total value of £100) using their own Cooksongold account and within 2 months of receiving their winner information email.

In the case of the winner's shopping spree exceeding the total prize value of £100, the winner is liable to pay for any amount over the value of £100.

I was briefly catching up with Wimbledon, and whilst it is a great summer iconic activity, I got distracted with the daisies and ivy that are popping up more with the heat and the sun. Inspired by them, I have made a bangle that hopefully catches that essence.

Made from silver, and a yellow 3mm sapphire. I love using shiny and matt contrasts. Stems on ivy are gnarly and matt so have continued with this contrast. Hand drawn, pierced, soldered and textured (inc polishing and satin finishing)

That's gorgeous Wallace I wish I had inspiration come upon me like that! May I ask how you made the lines for the petals in your daisy?

thank you Faith - I like ivy, it helps the bees, and other insects, but grows so fast I could swear blind it is really a triffid in disguise in my garden. I used a square graver - It is my favourite
