    oh no! that looks like one of the wonderful hammers that i used at yours on my little ring! (which i never take off and is just butted up nnext to my nans wedding ring for support, but it hasnt mis-shapen or anything)

    Hope yyou can get it mended or replaced by the company hun

    Been there, done that - had a tube of particularly thin glue split; realised it when I felt the solvent chill on my hand. Had to stand like a wally waiting for it to set with my hands clear of anything (except the tube I was stuck to) before I could grab the tube of release.

    2 morals to this story:

    1. Make sure you've got release agent handy (acetone will work, but it's not a great thing to have on your skin).
    2. WEAR GLOVES

    Thats a fab tutorial and the link is great too. I'm e-mailing them today as they sell a hammer handle replacement (exact fit) & I think that will save me some chamfering time...

    Sue yes it was the one you used & I remember you commenting about how nice it was... Glad the rings standing up to lots of wear and tear.

    Nicci -I was only smacking some metal and it was only 0.8mm not exactly heavy guage...oh well maybe I get the "broke my hammer" award now, lol

    Fretz hamers not only look as though they should last a lifetime they also COST as though they should last a lifetime!!
