Oh! what a charming bench! I love it!
it is lovely isent it but due to all the scorch marks OH will not let it in the house (thinks i will burn it down which probably is not too far off the mark though) so i have had to set it up in the garage, hmmm lets see how much work i get done in the winter lol. He did oil it for me though!
Ach! He obviously has no soul - that bench has seen some work, eh? It looks like a real craftspersons bench.

This is my home made bench which I've had for four years, it is made from two recycled school doors (mainly chipboard!) glued and screwed together, and then faced with pine planks. The shelf is made of smooth MDF so sweeping lemel is easy. More MDF is screwed to the back and two sides so that things don't roll off.
The peg in the centre is hardwood set into a notch in the doors and fastened with a large coach bolt, which is covered by a countersunk brass plate to make it look pretty (and to stop small parts and stones falling down the crack).
Other stuff - on the left - my bargain Record imp jeweller's vice (found on eBay for £20 - boxed greased and unused after 30 years!) ,
Rear left, a Morphy Richards Slow Cooker with pyrex jug containing sparex safety pickle floating in the water filled crock pot - works fine set to low heat.
Twin Chinese Anglepoise-look alikes providing good lighting.
Two vertical electrical conduit pipes fitted through both layers of the bench and secured using rawl bolts - with a Bracket on top to hold the Milbro Pendant Motor and flex shaft.
Right hand side, Heat resistant and charcoal blocks for soldering. and shelves for keeping doming blocks, mandrels etc.
Ooh, nice - now that's a place I would like to work in.

A huggle a day makes the bad stuff go away
How come I don't seem to be able to work in a nice small space (like Emerald) and need to spread out across the kitchen in three separate places? (Am finally getting to grips with clearing DD's room for SD and may be able to get into my work room in the next week or so
