Aw, thanks everybody. I really enjoyed making them and as they were my first torch project i gave them to my mum. They look surprisingly decorative when worn. It's funny how even a little detail has such an impact. I'm keen to try a bit of fusing and i've got a couple of small solderpaste ideas too. So i will definitly be continuing my experiments.
For fusing, you need to heat and pickle sterling four or five times, to remove copper and achieve a fine silver surface.
Alternatively you can use fine silver from the start, or best of all use Argentium silver, which is the metal of choice for this.
I take it if you fuse with sterling silver it will have a granular/pitted look?
