Hi all,
Easter may be over but there is still time for you to enter this month's themed competition - you could win a £100 shopping spree!

Why are there no entries this month?
I will start this off with this little pendant egg I made for my daughter last year.

Sweet egg pendant.
I'm struggling with the theme.
Joella - how is your egg coming along?
-
A beautiful egg James, as always!
Well, snorkmaiden - I will have to start again on Friday, when I get access to pressing equipment again. I wasn't getting a deep enough pressing - also, I noticed that the two halves didn't match up either - which doesn't help. So I guess it would be fair to say its not going well. Hey Ho, I guess we can't all be maestros like James (though I'd settle for a half way competent novice - but alas, even that seems out of reach just now).

This pendant set was finished last week in time for my customer being baptised on Saturday evening the cross is for that reason, the Amber represents her daughter named Amber and the three diamonds represent herself her husband and daughter, she was very pleased with it!

I forgot to show these photos of the silver egg shells I made to give an idea of my egg pendant's size, these shells were shaped in my lead block with a home shaped brass punch in my arbor press and finished on a lathe.

Lovely, Unhindered. The very personal symbolism for the recipient is so special. Although, it would also be appealing for any with religious (Christian) leanings, as I would think the three diamonds would just as easily represent the trinity and the orange tear drop shaped amber, the eternal flame. For me though, I love how neat and lovely the settings all are.
James, I still haven't given up on trying to make an egg - but was wondering how you made your brass punch tool, also - if you didn't have a lathe, would you be able to finish the egg without one? I can probably get a lead block from somewhere (I'm thinking that I may not be able to achieve what I want with press forming the shapes, so am thinking about alternative routes).
