Theme Competition August 2016 - Colour
Hello all,
Summer is still well and truly around, so this month we thought we would keep with this theme and celebrate all things colourful and bright in our competition - meaning the theme for August is COLOUR.
So, get out those colourful gemstones, experiment with different materials and give enamelling a go - as there are plenty of ways you can add a bit of colour to your pieces this month!
The winner will get a £100 Cooksongold shopping spree - just submit your design on this thread by midnight, 31st August to enter.
Good luck!

The judging will take place on 01.09.16. The following criteria are used to determine the winner: design, the technique used and the overall finish of the piece. The Cooksongold judging panel will make the final decision.

May I start this month's competition off, this is a posy of flowers I made for an old customer. It is 8 inches tall, the vase is carved rock crystal, I made the flowers and leaves from sheet and wires and cut the surfaces pre enamelling, a friend did the enamelling for me and the vase was carved by a lapidary in Germany.

Ah... You'll need to put in a few more posts before you can post pictures I'm afraid; just join in with the discussions and you'll be past the threshold in no time.

Ok here's my entry. For colour I decided on this synth Alexandrite as I'm sure it hasn't decided what colour it wants to be yet.
I received some new toys from cookson today so decided to be a little adventurous and attempt to make a crown collet. What's the verdict?
-
I love the collett, very unusual. The ring is beautiful.
