My first piece :)
Hi everyone,
Made this today and it's the first piece I have made in my wee spare-room workshop, feels good to slowly but surely get back into the swing of things, woo It's a cast silver twig which I had left over from my college days and a cabochon amethyst my friend brought me back from New zealand along with some other cobochons. Glad to see they're getting a bit of use now after lying in my tool box for the past 5 years.

Love the ring, you obviously have not forgotten much since your course.

Looks a bit like a snakey mythical animal from here. Pretty setting too. Dennis.

Thanks for your comments

Got a second piece made, after a couple of mishaps Cracked the stone I was going to originally use for this ring, used a bit too much force, it hit me in the face, I shed a wee tear and I had a ring with no stone for it Luckily I found a lapis lazuli cabochon lying about that had a wee knick out of it so thought it would suit this ring, and thankfully it fitted.
I Love jewellery that looks old, battered and worn, like a piece that was excavated. I think I achieved that with this ring

Looks good with the lapiz. What was the first stone?

Thanks Dennis The first stone was an oval facet amethyst.

I like how you've set the stone off from the shank Caseyla :-)
