    Hi Daisychain...sorry for the delayed response...and you did see me on Wednesday.
    This looks a great forum but I just have to get over my reluctance to ask waht may appear daft questions...
    And I must find a more interesting name..

    Don't worry about asking questions that seem daft - I've done it more than once now and everyone was great with the answers. My latest topic of interest is just trying to persuade myself to solder something - other than myself to anything that is

    I agree, no question is a daft one!

    Snowimp - soldering is fun! Just don't rush it and start with something small so that it doesn't seem so daunting.

    I have a couple of small pieces of fine silver - the result of mucking up some metal clay items - so I was thinking of starting with them and see if I can solder them together - they have smooth edges that need a bit of work to make a joint, but not much. Oh and soldering jump rings for practice too.
