Blimey, less than a month ago I gave a young lad a lesson on making silver bangles. He now has his own website silverbysilver - welcome and is also selling in a gallery. Fast learner!

Oh Carole (sounds like a song lol) what a good teacher you must be xx
I actually quite like what he does with those lampwork beads. His mum makes them.
Was he already making beads? If so, then I guess he has an artistic side. But didn't he work fast. Frightening really.

Oh, I took too long to type.

What an enterprising young man. He needs to come back for a lesson on how to wrap a loop though
Is he hallmarking? It is so important to keep the standard up.
In his shop, he's not actually selling anything as silver, so he could get away with not hallmarking if he wanted to. He is, however, calling his mum's beads 'Murano' which is a bit naughty. Even if she's using exclusively effetre/moretti glass (which could be said to come from Murano), she certainly isn't making them there.
That's true, though he did tell me that she's done a course there. He mentions that he uses argentium silver. We didn't discuss hallmarking cos I didn't realise that he was going to be selling them.
Maybe you should congratulate him (and you excellent tutor!) before having a quiet word in his shell like
