So here is a video on calculations from 995 to 999.
Please do watch it. There are some people comentin that the calculations shown in the video are wrong. But I feel that its correct

According to your calculations, if you have 4.2g of 0.995 gold, that's somehow equivalent to 4.18g gold at 0.999 purity.
So... What have you done with the alloying elements? Conservation of mass says that cannot work. What's actually needed is to add enough gold to leave the alloying metals at 0.01% of the overall total.
Or just purify.
Actually here in India ,
If you give any metal to a jeweller (say 22K or 99.5), they will convert it to 99.9999
Thats ehy this calculation seems very tricky to normal person who goes to a jeweller first time.
Hence i wanted to make a video and show everyone the calculations
So you're not alloying anything, just calculating the gold content.
The only time I'd bother doing that is when alloying.
