Default New top for my setting bench

My setting bench is still a work in progress, It basically a piece of plywood on a screw actuator the problem I had was everything fell off it because there were no sides. So I decided to fix something up this weekend. I also had a peice of polythene type plastic similar material to what kitchen chopping boards are made from. I decided it would be easier to clean up and also find things on. I also wanted a radius on the front as the edge as the plywood dug into my arms. I dont solder at the setting bench so i figured the the plastic should work out ok, I will just have to see !

The screw actuator is connected to an electric motor so I can change the height of the bench easily it also lets me get into the drawers behind it. I think it came from a pad printing machine originally.

the bench top as it was

The new surface with a radius on the front i used a hot air paint stripper gun to get it hot enough to bend then clamped it with the woodern batton on the front

the white box on the right controls the up and down and also the microscope light
I just need to fill and stain the woodern parts now and give everything a good tidy up, but maybe thats a job for next weekend
