    Default Annealing silver plated cutlery

    Hi everyone,
Im looking for a bit of advice as to how and how long to anneal some silver plated spoons and forks for a project, does anyone have any tips that may be useful for me?
I would very much appreciate any advice.
I am aware that annealing can make plating come off too.
    Thankyou

Assuming they're EPNS, treat them like brass.

As peter says, if you are planning to make jewellery from plated cutlery, then you will end up with a base metal.

To anneal, heat until it is dull red, then quench in pickle.

Can you explain what you meant by the sentence "You will end up with a base metal"

The silver plating tends to come off with heating, at least in patches, exposing nickle silver, a base alloy. Dennis.

Would the nickel regulations come into play? Would it be illegal to sell?
