I've had a customer who originally wanted a simple setting for an engagement ring which I said I would do. He now wants this

Oh sorry Peter. I'll pm you with his details. My earlier quote to him was fairly low though as it was for a very simple setting, so he may be put off once he knows what pave setting will set him back.

It's not the first time I've seen someone with a fixed idea of size & quality take fright when they learn the cost - and that was even with pointing him to Blue Nile as an option.
If you just want to contract out the setting side, that's fine by me.
