Well done Mandy! xxx
I take watercolours. Don't have any talent though.
Hi Keltz, I'm looking at the Foredom too. What accessories did it come with? Ux
I don't know if you are sorted now, but I think the few violet coloured minerals used for cabs might not give you the colour you want when ground down. Most non-metallic minerals have a white streak...
Argentium works really well for me, but I find I still need to pickle them and sometimes put them in a tumbler for a few minutes. You can still end up with golf clubs if you go too quickly with...
Just back from my hols in Aldeburgh with its shingle beach and abandoned wooden fishing boats. Here's my catch.

Definitely fading with the heat!
Well done Uptondownton! Fiddly work that.
'Go slow' as in take your time and concentrate so you don't hurt yourself.
I do this all the time as I put pearls on 0.8 or 1.00mm wires. I use an old ice cream box with a little piece of wood at the bottom and shallow water, and my flex shaft with a pearl drill bit in it....
Haha! Read it more carefully. They would do the job though. Mind you, I was given a free bag of alluvial sapphire gravel by a geologist in Oz many years ago. Don't know what to do with them though.
Hi Pickle, It is the sort of thing you see at the gem shows but nothing now till September. If you are being offered free sapphires - I'd take them. Alternatively try searching sapphire slice, or ask...

My sister used to manage the plant displays. She jumped at redundancy when Bunnings took over - they were very arrogant and wouldn't listen to their new staff.
Thanks Dennis. Will treat myself. Don't seem to be able to reply with quote at the moment.
I noticed a while ago that Cousins does a bag of small round micro shot on its own. Anyone had experience of using this? Thought it might be good for getting in close to corners, but might get stuck...
That's just awful! Don't think I will be opening my studio any time soon.
I'd go for aquamarine or topaz. Ux
The Curious Gem does 8mm gold-filled jump rings in 16 gauge.
No worries Alan,
You did reply on facebook eventually. Didn't know about the ticket system - will check it out.
I had one made by M Shaw Engraving in Sheffield. Very pleased with it. There is also Jon Black on Facebook who will make hardened steel stamps.
Hi Jen, Don't know if this is allowed but you can always ignore it I guess. Can I enter my son's ring - as a proud mum? He is still off school after having a terrifying amount of metalwork put into...
BOING! Well done CeeBee.
Definitely the best springs! :D
