Yes, what a great video! Just a couple of questions I couldn’t find the answers to…..what diameter copper or silver wire do you recommend and is soldering on the copper or silver balls onto the...

Hello China…..never thought of that one….durrrrr! Are the walls malleable enough to rub over?

Ah I see “where you are coming from”!
My concern was that a 4mm diameter cab would be difficult to make a normal bezel for. I have some fine silver bezel strip 0.3 x 3mm height which I use for most...
Thanks for the rounding edge tip. The prob I had with the prototype was the very outer rim which was 1mm wire soldered onto the 22mm diam rondel. The bezel behaved perfectly on the second attempt....
Being flat backed, to me this presents a problem. Possibly cut a “housing” into a smaller diameter piece of sheet, then work the silver over the edge of the cab having soldered the “housing onto the...
But if photocopied one can’t get the embossing effect on the silver when rolled together. This is what I am looking for. Thanks for the website. I am sure I will find what I want now.

I have not sourced so far small artificial leaf “stencils” to use in a rolling mill to emboss their shape and texture onto silver etc. I have some large ones for “necklaces”etc but am looking for...
Thanks all for your input. All adds to my knowledge bank!
Now for the next request! See new topic!!

Oh gosh, the more you do the more you realise there is to learn!
I have just started smelting and rolling and that has opened up a whole new realm of research and reading!

Hello everyone! Anybody used this spray? It sounds too good to be true! It is said to replace all fluxes, pickling, and prevent fire scale!
Even if true it could be a tad expensive !

Sounds intriguing, but could you expand on the wooden half egg / spinning with annealing……….

On the cadge for advice again! Where can I buy cultured pearls half drilled 10mm diam plus please?
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Yes. I gather that reclaimed scrap can contain bits of solder so some of this 935 would in theory counteract this “dilution”. I am sure other comments will come in……..

So would you suggest this should be smelted down separately from sterling?
