They don't have hallmarks in the USA. They usually call brand marks etc hallmarks, as I repeatedly point out on various forums. I'm very tedious! Consumer law is much more lax. Eat the chlorine...

Yes re Hallmark. The contract of sale is made in this country therefore made under UK law.

Remember though, never use one of those pearl clamps to hold a pearl. Dreadful.

You might want to check the Hallmarking Act provisions but I think it is illegal to make any claims yourself on quality of metals. Gold, silver, platinum must be assayed and marked by a proper office...

Way back when I went to the Goldsmith's one day tutorial day on hallmarking. Talking to the actual assayers their number one hate was tiny zip lock bags with one item in each. time wasting fiddling....
