I must give that a go, I have been using 0.5 sheet, takes time and a little bit on the firm side, I find the stock 0.3 bezel strip a bit thin,

Why don't you look at the GRS vice, not the ball vice, I use them at work, they fit on the GRS dove tail, you can get angles on it and move it through 360 deg, and any of the GRS bits and pieces fit...
