Maybe hold them in a small mitre jig vice to cut

I have found the best thing at the moment is to keep busy , and try and avoid seeing too much news as it can get a bit too much at the moment

I have the same one and I still get the white marks , I mainly use mine as a hot water tank with the solution and a toothbrush now

If I was going to attempt this I would file the outside edge of the tubes at a slight angle before soldering so there is a slight gap when soldered together , if that makes sense
