I’ve always bought my paste from cooksongold and have never had an issue with it. Maybe there’s an occasional dodgy batch or different supplier with a varied recipe.
I’m amazed how much it’s gone up...
Sorry you’ve not had much luck with solder paste. I’ve never had this problem with it, a couple of my tubes I’ve had over three years and they’re still going strong … N
Nice to see your work caroline a very unique look … N
Hi David, have you not discovered the pleasures of silver solder paste yet? One of my favourite past times is making chains with lots of tiny links. For me silver solder paste shines out as a superb...
Look forward to seeing your creations Damien … good luck with getting it all sorted … N
Hi Damien, nice to hear my videos have come in useful. It sounds like you have it all under control. I’ve been wanting to swap over to an oxygen concentrator for a long time however I have read they...
Hi Damien, this is the style of propane regulator I use for my Smiths Little Torch it is adjustable up to 4 bar. I think I have it set to roughly just under 1 bar. The smallest burner for the Smiths...
Must be hard to wear something that brings back sadness and upset, easier buried in a box and forgotten about. Maybe re-engraving with something new could refresh the love and vigour small inanimate...
Sad story Caroline, sentimentality can be so well ingrained. Hope you managed to get it re-engraved.
He reminds me of being back at school … N
Ahh good old professor John Ahr … I really miss his presence on YouTube … not sure what happened but he’s not made videos for a long time … N
Hi David, i’ve found the best deals that can be had are from over-the-counter at a friendly welding supply company. For generic unbranded kit I would expect to pay roughly £100 for a pair of...
I’m really fussy about new tools, especially when supposedly buying top of the range. I would definitely return them and ask for replacements … N
Mine aren’t a spring loaded variety, they were a little stiff to start with but nothing that a squirt of WD-40 didn’t sort. The jaws have a perfectly ground finished with no pitting. Where did you...
I recently bought two pairs of Maun pliers and I find them fantastic compared to the cheap unbranded varieties i’ve had for awhile that are now pretty much useless as they misalign and are very...
A few issues I know of that can occur … Sievert tortures run on propane and not butane … mostly running with a hose failure valve and not a small regulator … a jet inside the burner controls the gas...
Nice lot of tools for the price … i’m sure someone will snap them up … great for somebody just starting out … good luck with it … N
That looks like a good option Efo, I don’t think you’ll regret it … N
Not sure if I should mention it on here but my unbranded mitre jig came from cousins. I can’t really recommend the company compared to Cooksongold.
I have had some really poor quality product sent...
Some people say you get what you pay for. I recently spent £36 on a basic mitre jig tool that I’m very happy with, can’t fault it so far seems very accurate. Being a hobbyist I tend to go for budget...
Look forward to seeing your photos … N
Cheers for the plug David. How time flies when you’re having fun, almost 3 years on here and YouTube and nearly 45k subs thanks to everyone’s support and encouragement … N
Sorry to hear you’re struggling with your hands Joe and having to change direction. Must have been a difficult choice to make especially having to let go of so many precious and sentimental tools....
Got carried away a couple of months ago and used Christmas as an excuse … N
