That is not a hallmark but a makers mark and I’m not sure what 795 stands for I can’t seem to find anything. It may have taken a first polish and as Dennis says it may be plated and you’re down to...
Tbh if I’ve seen men wearing pendants at all they are very short and worn tight round their necks as more of a choker than a pendant, that doesn’t always mean they are worn on top of fabric. Unless...
I’m assuming that STD doesn’t stand for what came up when I searched so sorry I’m being a big dim!
The number on the nozzle I use is 3940 but not sure if that relates to present parts
When I bought my sievert decades ago I bought 3 burners, the needle, a medium and the big scary one The needle has never been out of its box and the only time I use the big one is if I’m making cuffs...
I rarely use beads Wendy but I just find it tedious. I could solder a really complex piece 20 times in the time it takes me to do a beaded necklace!
I would normally have sent the pendant in on its own as well but this came up on a fb forum post recently and the assay office failed the assay because the gimp was plated. This seems to be normal...
I love it Sheena, very wearable. I like that the stone is matt too
There was no H&S back in the 70s! I moved to Luxi a while back , a late starter as everyone was moving on to Menzerna! With the luxi I still found myself on occasion returning to rouge to work on...
Yes just mix the araldite and add whatever colour you want and mix in well. I’ve never used it for the purpose you have though but as larger scale infils in place of proper resins. My feeling is that...
I agree with George. So much better to make your own so that you know what you are working with and probably much less time wasted
Back in the day we used ground ebony dust, more recently I’ve used crushed drawing pastels because it was all I had. I’ve used powdered dyes in the past too
I think Wendy may suggest super glue but I’ll leave her to advise . Anything glue related I find wooden cocktail sticks really useful for small amounts
You could use bits of masking tape to hold them together until you get the wiring set up and adjusted and tightened so they aren’t going anywhere and then remove the tape
I’ve only ever scored and folded which is a bit more forgiving. Have you tried wiring it? It’s what I would do but getting them on first will be a real faff before you can adjust because they’ll move...
He’s wonderful Dennis. We have them in the burn in the village. We’ve kept a bit quiet about them over the years in case anyone wanted to harm them. I’ve watched 3 cubs playing in the small hours...
I did it a couple of times before I bought one and it was really expensive if you were to do it on a regular basis. I think the size I needed worked out about £1 each
There are loads of great beginners books and an endless amount of videos and tutorials out there to help it not seem so daunting. Sometimes it’s easier to watch something being done to get a feel for...
You’re now on the slippery slope! I blame another forum for tempting me into the Swanstrom disc cutter, my first big spend in decades
It means the thickness of the gold plating is...
They will be mass produced, overseas probably and not made by hand . Caroline
I would dome and then add the finish
As this is a makers forum I’m not sure you’ll get stockists for component parts like that as most people would be making from scratch
I wouldn’t go past my Swanstrom, cheaper than Durston who are producing anything they can at a much dearer price. I had to buy it from Rio Grande though so don’t know what the extra shipping costs...
This was the Tay a few days ago now we are in double figures today

I usually order it with other goods when they are doing free delivery and it comes by courier
