Hi all - I went to order some Argentium 940 the exact size as previously bought. Strangely...in 2021 it weighed 46.6g and now weighs 43.63g. Am I going nuts? Can anyone explain the discrepancy? Thank...
Yes, it's a Sievert & the washer is still in position. I unscrewed it again and made sure it was extra tight. It seems to have worked. Fingers crossed. Lucky I have a good sense of smell!
Good morning, after some advice please. I noticed that my torch has started to leak a tiny bit of gas. I removed the nozzle and couldn't see any deposits and screwed it back on tightly. But it still...

Thank you Peter & Dennis, perhaps I will give it a miss...

Good morning , can anyone recommend a (relatively) inexpensive gold testing kit? They are very cheap on Ebay but I wonder if any good. Thanks guys
I was looking at undrilled...but your idea sounds good Dennis. I have a quantity of tiny silver caps so that will make life a bit easier.
There are still masses of leaves to find when you go out walking. Oak leaves are particularly good for patterns through a mill. I usually place the leaves in a book with tissue so they can dry out...
I've made loads of cuffs, varying in size from 25mm wide to 40mm and use 0.70mm thick. Anticlastic shaping mostly. I have sometimes used other thicknesses up to 1mm.
Has anyone experience of using seed pearls? Just wondered what the best way of fixing them was....
I always get a part mark added for gold. I think it looks good
I agree with Dennis, I always use WD40
