Could be done with baby hair too I suppose. I wouldnt fancy it but my daughter is nearly 50 now, but I may have considered it from a first haircut as a memento.

Thanks Lauren :)
Pat, yes I do occasionally work with human hair too, I have a wedding ring to do with human hair soon- the Victorians made a lot of jewellery using human hair, some is amazing and a lot is still intact today.
Looks nice. I suppose it would be considered a bit too grim to suggest a memento mori version - but i never cease to be surprised how often people still use lockets for this purpose.
Not at all, a lot of the items I make are from horses that have passed on- I also make items with ashes too.
Its nice to be able to bring people comfort in their grief.
My friend had her mother's ashes incorporated in a silver ring made into a heart. I think it's a bit macabre but she said it made her think about her mum more. Well don't think I would want that although I am very very close to my mum. She will be 99 in December and still looking after her bungalow herself and my step dad who is physically in a worse state but 10 years younger.
Really nice piece of work, well done!

Thanks S.M :)
Pat, yes, its one of those things-some people love it but its not for everybody.
My mothers ashes are still in an urn having moved countries with me twice as I can't decide where to scatter them....
I love that. Very original design and very well made 😊
