PMC + silver findings
Hi All,
I've made some little bees using silver art clay, and now want to stick some peg/disc earring backs (Cooksons item NVJ 061X) on them. Can I just solder one to the other using solder paste or a bit of solder strip? Or should I be trying to 'glue' them using the lavender oil you mention in other places?
I ask because I don't really understand the difference in heating/melting temperatures between the clay silver and the normal type of silver (and I guess I don't really understand where the Lavender oil fits in to the panoply of silverworking kit either).
Many thanks for any help you can give me.
Cheers to All,

Ello :)
Yes once the bees have been fired and tumbled you can solder the pins too them.
If you haven't tumbled them then burnish the area to be soldered so it doesn't "eat" the solder.
Here are some instructions I did for attaching sterling cuff link backs
Soldering Sterling to PMC / ACS Silver Clay
The principles the same (heat the PMC not the sterling pin) and its easier with paste solder ;)
