Good morning all. I saw a super pair of earrings yesterday which were matt silver with a polished “tear” of silver soldered onto each one. Terrible description, sorry! How do you get the matt finish please.

You can either use a brass brush which although matt is a bit shiny for me. I found the sort of plastic Brillo pad mops quite unforgiving if not used carefully. I use these https://www.cooksongold.com/Precious...ads&channel=uk and find I can get the finish I want especially as the pads start to wear down to a gentler finish
I had a similar question - super helpful, thank you!
Wonderful. Just ordered from Cooksons. Thanks

They are supposed to be for clay but I find them really useful. There are 3 grades and one is quite rough but it depends what finish you want.
I’ve remembered the name of the Brillo mops. Scotchbrite:) but if you pressed to hard you could do all sorts of damage and only really good for flat areas. I tear little pieces of the sponge off and use tweezers to get them into awkward areas if necessary
