Help with flex shafts

Hi Everyone,
I really want to get into stone setting because most designs i plan would look so lovely with stones. I mainly use a Dremel for my polishing ect, I bought a dremel flex shaft attachment along with a variation of sizes of Busch bud burrs and setting burs. My Dremel takes 2.5-3.2 mandrels but i cant find infomation anywhere to say how big the busch mandrels are. Does anyone know if they will fit my dremel flex shaft please? Thank you

Hi,

I figure I am just misunderstanding the question; if you already have the collets and you already have the burrs, can't you just try pushing them in and see if they fit? All the burrs I see listed on Cooksongold have their sizes clearly stated, keep in mind that 3/32 is considered to be 2.35mm.

Also note that the sizes are in regard to the shank, not the business end.

Sorry, i didnt clearly write the question! x The burs have not arrived yet, nor has the flex shaft. Its a dremel compatible flex shaft, and my vonhaus rotary tool will take a 2.5-3.2 drill bit or what ever attachment im using. I just didnt know if the Busch burs would fit x

I would imagine that it'll be very difficult for anyone to answer your question unless they have the same combination of equipment. Cookson will accept returns in original packaging and undamaged if they don't fit so that won't be a problem for you

The Busch burrs and other mounted rotary tools from Cookson have 2.35 shanks as stated by handmadeblanks above. If your handpiece is for anything larger the tools will slip and not work properly. Dennis

You can try finding the model number of your Burrs on the Busch website: http://www.busch.eu/en/produkte/goldschmiede/index.html

I had a quick look through this PDF catalogue and the shanks seem to be 3/32 (2.35) :http://www.busch.eu/export/sites/bus..._werkzeuge.pdf

Do you have the model number of the Burrs? As Dennis mentioned, if they are 2.35 then they will be too small for your flex shaft which has a minimum of 2.5

Thank you all! xx Handmadeblanks, Im not sure if my rotary tool will fit it as i cant find anything that actually tells me the min shank it will take, all iv found is this -
Rated Power: 135w Variable Speed: 10000 - 32000/min Chuck Capacity: 3.2mm max NW/GW: 0.7/1.3kg
but that just tells me the max it will take :( i have a VonHaus Rotary tool.

I've no idea how many different rotary tools VonHaus make - the first one I had a quick look at on Amazon:

Clearly states it comes with multiple collets - so if you're getting the same tool but without the kit - then at least you know they do make collets that will fit your burrs.
