Yet again more advice requested! I want to twist two different metals together...silver and brass or copper wire to create a decorative strand to make various pieces of jewellery. Any advice will be most welcome.....simple machines, home made or purchased etc or articles. Thanks yet again for your invaluable help.

If you clamp one end, it can b be gripped with heavy pliers and done by hand. But it must be under tension.
Another way is to grip the free end in the jaws of a wood workers hand drill and turn that.
The big problem is to get an even result all the way along, which means very even annealing of the wires.

That looks great. I have been asked for some twisted wire large hooped earrings. Preferably one strand being copper or brass. Will this add great complications with silver soldering on a post and disc, and “sealing” the free end of the twist?

These are day to day problems we have to mull over. Without knowing more, I would use a post with or without a disk, and a short piece of close fitting tubing at both ends to bring it all together. Practice with all copper first.Quote:
