Hi Indi,
What's it like getting a 6.0 volt shock, or did you wear gloves? It's certainly good to have such a rewarding method that is safe to use at home. Kind regards, Dennis.
Dennis the only shock received was the realisation of how easy this technique was.
How cheesy was that? But really, you kind of infer a good point - SAFETY people SAFETY (especially when learning from amateurs).
I didn't wear gloves when handling the wire, my hands were not wet and I resisted licking the battery.
Indi :)
Thanks Indy - as everyone has said this is an awesome post. Thank you so much for sharing!
Hi I just wanted to say thank you for sharing such detailed information on this!!!
I gave it a go at the weekend, and almost couldn't believe it when it started bubbling away at my first attempt.
Hi Indi, I love your etched copper and the beads are really interesting, are the beads and spacers ceramic?
Well, I shall be doing a short workshop on electroetching tomorrow - I've got pretty much all the kit, know the theory quite well but somehow haven't managed to get around to trying it yet...! Should be interesting. We'll be using P'n'P for some of it at least.
Attachment 2877Attachment 2878ah - I've been playing with etching (without the electro!). I did use P'n'P though ;-)
been playing around with the Edinburgh Etch - so 4 parts ferric chloride to 1 part citric acid. I etch into bronze; then put the resulting plate through the mill with the silver (nitric acid scared me too much for direct etching). Leather in doming block and domed after etching, yes.
I haven't been around the forum but I've been playing lots...
