Mixing metals to create a new colour

Hi Everyone,
So i was getting a little bored of silver, and as i have no money for gold i wanted to make a metal with a soft pink tone that was not gold.
I have mixed 4g of silver, with 3g of copper, resulting in a beautiful pale pink shade that i really love.
However im wondering when it comes to hallmarking is it going to be hallmarked as copper? or silver? or will it not be able to even be hallmarked? I would really like to be able to use it in my work, and hallmark my work but i dont even know what metal it would test as.....Thanks

Wouldn't it be marked as Mixed metal?

Mixed metal is for pieces which have elements of more than one metal that can be clearly differentiated.

Your new alloy wouldn't be hallmarked as anything. There's not enough silver for even an 800 mark, and copper is not hallmarked - though you could mark it with a 'copper' punch.

You could always alloy 75% copper and 25% silver - still not of hallmarking quality, but it's a known alloy: Shibuichi
