Hello!
I’ve used platinol to oxidise a silver bangle. However my customer has decided she’d prefer it back to its original colour. However the bangle has engraving across the whole bangle so I can’t buff off the oxidisation. Is there some kind of solution or chemical that will strip the platinol without effecting the silver?
I did try with a test piece of metal burning it off which left with a horrible texture and would still need buffing afterwards!!!
Any help greatly appreciated!

The only way I know of is burning off, pickle and lightly repolish. Not sure why it would leave a texture, I’ve never had that happen
Agree with Caroline. Heat in a darkened place until it just begins to glow red. Pickle and re-polish.Quote:

If you concentrate a fierce small flame, you will get reticulation, which is the texture you talk about. It needs to be a large soft flame moving all the time.
