Is this solder or fused?

Hi All,

Yup, super noob here. Not that I'm anywhere near attempting something like this but just curious as to how the gold wire is attached?

Could be solder, but you would see it somewhere on the inside, maybe at each end.
To me it looks more like a factory produced item, in which case welding is also an option. Dennis.

Thanks Dennis. If you were going to wrap gold wire around silver would you use solder?

Yes, but anneal it and solder one end on the inside first. Then wrap it very tightly and do a thin line of solder pallions down the centre of the inside only, to guarantee that it stays smart.

Bending it after soldering I think might open gaps, so I would wrap it after bending. Dennis
